Have you seen nicotine gum, patches and sprays advertised as quit smoking methods? What if these alleged therapies are just ‘more’ nicotine products?
I wouldn’t start drinking chocolate milk, in order to stop eating chocolate. I wouldn’t use the same substance to quit what I’m already taking. That is more of the same, via a different delivery system.

The answer is simply, marketing by big companies. One claim is that NRT (nicotine replacement therapy) doubles your chance of success, compared to going cold turkey. This is true however when you look closely at the numbers, results are still extremely low.
